Even though this book is published, the investigation is
ongoing. We are still looking for Albert Johannes, the
young man who travelled to Canada with Peder. And we
would appreciate any clues as to his where abouts . If you
have information regarding this or anything else
regarding the mystery, please do not hesitate to contact
Mark Fremmerlid.
This is what we know of Albert Johannes Rassmussen
Haaskjold who emigrated to Canada in 1906:
He was listed in the 1900 Norwegian census as
Johannes Rasmussen born 1888. His fathers name was
Rasmus Anderssen, born 1867. His mothers name was
Ragnhild Olsdatter born 1863. His sisters name was
Oline Rasmusdatter, born 1892.
SOLVED!!!
Thank you to Johannes Terje Håskjold and Magnhild
Krumsvik for solving this now. Albert Rasmussen lived
out his days as a Salmon fisherman in Canada under
the name John Anderson. He died about 1960. One
loose end in this story has been tied up.
